This time, it was a dream come true. A couple from Texas, USA, eloping to South Africa to tie the knot on the most tranquil setting you can probably find. A riverbed right next to a crocodile and hippo invested river in the Sabi Sands game reserve.
This was only my second safari wedding and both of them tops the list for my favourite weddings to date. The fact that I usually get to share these experiences with a loved one (this time Mom joined) makes it that much more special.
Melissa and Konstantine are adrenaline sport junkies. They met in their hometown of Houston during a skydiving day.
During a conversation in the packing room, they both realised they share a love for sport motorcycling and they arranged to go ride together.
They have travelled the world together and done things most of us only dream about ever since. I remember following their honeymoon adventures on Instagram after their wedding and it included hiking up Table Mountain, shark cave diving, skydiving and a bunch of other stuff that gives me the goosebumps.
One of my favourite moments of their wedding was during the couple shoot. Our guide and co-owner of Dulini Lodge, Ian, took us to all of the best spots on the game lodge. We got to climb up rock mountains and walk in the middle of the bush which obviously made me very happy. I think I could very easily retire at 30 on a game farm, photographing animals and weddings for the rest of my life…
