Earl was my very first friend in Cape Town. He was actually my first Cape Town friend, before I even moved to Cape Town.
Earl is an amazing wedding photographer (have a look here) and I met him at the workshop of Jean-Pierre Uys back in October 2010. We got along really well and kept in touch when I flew back home. He pretty much thought I joked when I told him I’m moving to Blouberg in 2 months time. And when my mom and I pulled into the Engine Garage at Worcester after traveling 1600km, he was the first person to text me “Welcome to Cape Town!”
The next year, during my first official wedding season, my camera fell during a wedding and I was left stranded with just my backup camera (a Canon 450D at the time).
My first thought was – phone Earl! And so he drove all the way from his home to the venue to bring me his camera. What a friend!
Earl, I really appreciate having met you and now also your lovely wife! You’ve been a part of my Cape Town journey from the start and you’re always supporting my work. I’m so happy to play a small part in this new chapter of your lives, even if it’s just by taking your photos.
I know you and Lauren are going to be awesome parents and little Emily is going to have the most fabulous pictures all her life with you as her dad.
