I love being ‘led’ by a wedding. After 7 years in the industry I’ve come to know that you get some weddings where you lead and others where you are just a passenger for the ride. I love the latter. Because those weddings don’t make me feel like I’m there to perform a job, but rather as a friend, a participant in a very happy chapter of a couple’s story. This was such a wedding.
Core and Carla were together for 7 years before he popped the question, which involved a fishing trip with friends, pink roses, photographs of their many adventures together and finally a picknick shared with loved ones. Babylonstoren was the first venue they visited as their search for the perfect wedding setting began and they decided on it immediately. I can’t blame them.
And what a lovely winter’s day it turned out to be. Filled with their most loved family and friends, good (and colourful!) food and the best speeches I think I’ve heard in a long time. I couldn’t stop smiling at this wedding. Thank you for allowing me to a part of this day and for giving me this experience of the things that matter most.
